The design for the historic College of Aeronautics in Elmhurst, NY, incorporates “aviation” inspired motifs. The signage system includes a main building ID sign and a freestanding ID sign, both manufactured from aluminum components. In order to create synergy between old and new buildings, 2 sets of illuminated fabricated aluminum channel letters were created. Because of airport proximity and the height of the building mounted signage, NYC air traffic had to be rerouted on the day of installation.
