MoMA reopened its doors to the public in 2004. Working with Bruce Mau Associates Toronto, Canada and KPF Architects NYC, VGS constructed and installed the landmark recognition and signage project.
The project management in a highly secured environment was challenging. Installation had to be carefully coordinated with the curators’ schedules to display and hang artwork.
Along with the interior and exterior signage fabrication and installation, VGS value engineered the massive glass Founder’s Wall. The glass was hand carved onsite at MoMA, to assure its perfection as it rises out of the slate floor and disappears into the ceiling.
